Ottawa 67's News Release

Last night's game was the first of the playoffs and proved to be an exciting one against the Niagra Ice Dogs. Some of our generous community-minded sponsors donated hundreds of tickets to local children's charities to last night's game. A few of them joined in our ceremonial puck-drop (pictured above.)

We started off the game with a goal mid-way through the period with a goal by Anthony Nigro, and then took a break for a fun and entertaining intermission activity sponsored by Fireplace Centre and Patio Shop. One lucky fan went home with a new BBQ!

The second period started with the 67's in the lead but that wouldn't last long as the Ice Dogs fought to make themselves known leaving the score at the end of the second tied at three. More winning during the second intermission where one of our fans won a 42 inch HD television! Congratulations Mark. (check out our sales table in front of gate 3 for information on future draws)

The third period was a hard played one as both teams took penalties and took some nice shots on each other's nets and just as fans started to think the game would go into overtime, Tyler Toffoli came to the rescue with just 3:21 making the final score 4-3 in favour of our boys.

Make sure to join us on Sunday, March 21st as we take on the Niagra Ice Dogs in our second game of the playoffs. Keep an eye out for us as we'll be writing to you, as always, from In the Stands!
