Oswalt To Speak At Relationship and Information Series for Entrepreneurs (RISE) 2009 Session

Austin, TX - Cleantegrity, a leading provider of sales and service solutions for emerging cleantech companies, today announced it will host a Relationship and Information Series for Entrepreneurs (RISE) 2009 session on Tuesday, March 3 from 10:00-11:30a.m. The subject matter covered will be "Collaborating with the University."
RISE is an annual conference series held for and hosted by Austin area entrepreneurs to connect and exchange ideas that inspire the entrepreneurial spirit. This 3rd annual conference series is four days of independently organized, peer-led workshops and sessions covering a wide variety of topics of interest to aspiring, new and established entrepreneurs across multiple industries.
Steve Harvey asked Ronald Oswalt, Turfcats Vice-President/General Manager, to speak about his useage of Texas State University interns and their role with the professional football team in the Central Texas area.
Steve Harvey, CEO of Cleantegrity stated, "This session will help expand the diversity of economic development in Central Texas. Attendees will gain valuable insights that can be immediately applied to growing their top-line revenue." For the session's content, Cleantegrity has teamed up with Career Services at Texas State University to provide real-world experiences and guidance on how entrepreneurs can collaborate with the University. Internships, special class projects and more will be discussed in this informative and interactive session. Each attendee will receive a "roadmap" on how to effectively approach and interface with the University, along with An Employer's Guide to Developing an Internship Program. The Jobs4Cats online system will be demonstrated, and attendees will also learn more about the Texas State Small Business Development Center.
"Career Services' collaborations with local employers on job shadowing, internships, part-time and full-time jobs are always win-win-win situations," said Curt Schafer, Director of Career Services. "Our students greatly benefit from their workplace exposure and experiences, our employers enjoy a rich and ready talent pool to assist in their endeavors, and our city is enhanced by the meshing of these two groups."
The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce believes in bridging the gap between the University and local businesses. "We appreciate member businesses, such as Cleantegrity, that utilize the talent pool from our University to help build their business," says Phyllis Snodgrass, Chamber President. "San Marcos has a unique environment. We have a major university with over 27,500 students yet, we still have that small town look and feel. The students in our community help our businesses by serving as interns and bringing their own fresh ideas to the table on subjects such as process improvement, customer service strategies, market research and communications."
Registration is online and available through Feb. 28 at www.riseaustin.org. The session is free to attend, but space is limited and registration is required.
