MISSOULA, MONT. - The Missoula Osprey may want to mark Thursday night's game here at Dehler Park against the Billings Mustangs as one night to remember. However, most of the 2,624 fans in attendance would rather soon forget about what transpired in the late innings.

The Osprey overcame a six-run deficit with a nine-run top of the seventh inning, as they beat the Mustangs, 9-6, and jumped into a first-place tie in the Pioneer League North Division Second Half Standings as a result.

The Osprey (18-13, 36-33) used a solo home run and a two-run single by Jake Lamb, a run-scoring double by Breland Almadova, a bases-loaded walk by Anthony Velazquez, a two-run single by Evan Marzilli, a run-scoring double from Danny Pulfer and a RBI single by Michael Perez to turn a 6-0 deficit into a 9-6 lead.

Early on, the Mustangs (18-13, 39-30) took advantage of Osprey starting pitcher Yoimer Camacho's control problems to score three times in the bottom of the second inning, once in the third and twice more in the fifth for a 6-0 lead.

Camacho - who surrendered all six runs on eight hits, four walks and hit two batters in five innings of work - was picked up by the bullpen tandem of Dexter Price (3-2), who fanned four batters in 2 1/3 innings of work, and Vince Spilker, who recorded the final five outs to pick up his sixth save in seven chances.

Lamb had three of Missoula's 11 hits on the night, while Marzilli, Perez and Almadova added two hits apiece.

The Osprey and Mustangs will play game two of their key four-game series on Friday at Dehler Park. The Osprey will send Chris Thomas to the mound, while the Mustangs will counter with Sal Romano in a battle of right-handed pitchers.

The Osprey will come home for their final two games of the 2012 regular season against the Billings Mustangs on September 5-6. Tickets are available now at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 North Higgins in Downtown Missoula, online at MissoulaOsprey.com and by phone (406) 543-3300.
