Vitale recently committed to play college hockey this fall at Northeastern University. Vitale, tallied 31 points (11g, 20a) in 53 games with the Stampede.

Brian Lee of the Lincoln Stars was selected #9 overall by the Ottawa Senators. With Lee, Oshie and Finley all taken in the first round it marked the first time in NHL draft history that three players directly from the USHL were selected in the first round.
