Oshawa Power Win Both on and off the Court for Cure on the Court Night

(OSHAWA, ON) Durham's Team the Oshawa Power won a crucial game against the Summerside Storm 106-91 on Cure on the Court Day at the General Motors Centre in downtown Oshawa.

The Power started off with a bang winning the first quarter 31-17 and never looking back cruising to the blowout victory.

Reigning NBL Canada Player of the Week Brandon Robinson continued his strong play recording a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds.

"We have to keep in mind that every game is a must win game," said Robinson after the win. "The mindset right now is just keeping getting better and keep playing defense."

All-star candidate Omari Johnson poured in a game-high 29 points and plucked down 10 rebounds. Every player on the roster recorded at least a point.

The Strom got a double-double effort from Mike Williams who posted 10 points and 12 rebounds. Stephen McDowell led the Storm in scoring with 14.

The Power went "Pink" at home at the GM Centre tonight to raise funds for The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in support of NBL Canada's Cure on the Court initiative.

The next Power home game is Thursday February 9, 2012 as they take on the Moncton Miracle and former Oshawa Power player Akeem Wright.
