Mississauga Power News Release
(OSHAWA, ON) Durham's Team the Oshawa Power lost a tough game against the Quebec Kebs 104-96 in a back and forth affair at the General Motors Centre in front of 992 enthusiastic fans.
The Power and Kebs battled during the first twenty four minutes of action and solved nothing as they went to the halftime break tied at 48. The second half saw both teams trade leads and momentum until Rick Bodiford exploded and took over the game for the victorious Kebs.
The Power got great performances from Omari Johnson and Brandon Robinson as they netted 29 and 27 points respectively. The Power also showed their active hands on defense, deflecting balls all game long and were able to come away with 12 steals.
"We kind of came out flat in the fourth. They're veterans and they made shots," said Johnson. "We made a few comebacks but not enough to take the lead back."
Bodiford led the Kebs with 23 points, and the sharp shooting Cedric Moodie added 17 in the Kebs fourteenth victory of the season.
The Power will now hit the road for two straight games in Halifax, the first coming New Years day against the Rainmen at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T.
The next Power home game is January 26, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. against the Saint John Mill Rats.
