Orlando Predators Add Former Tampa Bay DL Richard Clebert

December 28, 2015 - Arena Football League (AFL) - Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO - The Orlando Predators have agreed to terms with veteran defensive lineman Richard Clebert, the franchise has announced.

Now entering his sixth season in the Arena Football League, Clebert (6-1, 285, South Florida) has totaled 65.5 total tackles with 17 sacks and 24 tackles for loss in his AFL career.

"Richard is a two-time ArenaBowl champion with exceptional pass rushing ability," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He has great athleticism and is capable of rushing with both speed and power. We expect him to continue putting a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks."

Clebert joins the Predators after spending the past two seasons with the rival Tampa Bay Storm, where he delivered 10.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He was previously a member of the Predators during the 2012 season when he posted 13 tackles with one sack and four stops for loss in 12 games with Orlando. He spent the 2013 season in the National Football League after signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Clebert entered the Arena Football League in 2010 as a rookie with the Spokane Shock, where he played under current Predators Head Coach Rob Keefe. In his first season, he notched 12 tackles with 2.5 sacks and four stops for loss, helping Spokane to a victory in ArenaBowl XXIII.

In 2011, Clebert began the year with Tampa Bay before finishing out the season with the Jacksonville Sharks, where he would earn his second championship after the team won ArenaBowl XXIV.

A native of Miami, Clebert attended Miami Edison Senior High School before spending his college career at the University of South Florida. A three-year starter for the Bulls, he played in 37 career games and posted 74 tackles with 4.5 sacks.
