Orlando Orange Men to participate in Disney "Hoop It Up"
August 10, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Las Vegas Aces News Release
Orlando, FL. The ABA Orlando Orange Men have been invited to participate in the World Championship "Hoop It Up" basketball tournament to be held on August 12th and 14th at the Disney Sports Plex in Orlando, Florida. The Orange Men, who begin play in November, will sponsor the Slam Dunk Contest. NBA star Dee Brown will host the event to be shown on ESPN - and one of the top dunkers in the country will be wearing ABA gear as he competes for the title. According to GM/co-owner Jimmy Lyons, "They expect 25,000 people will attend and 500 of them will be wearing ABA gear as we rev up for the season. It should be a fabulous event - and provide great exposure for the league and our team." For more information, email mastermarkus911@yahoo.com or visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
