February 11, 2013 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO,Fla . - Orlando City SC continues group play in the Disney Pro Soccer Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Wednesday at 8 p.m. against Toronto FC. Just three days later on Saturday night at 6 p.m. the Lions take on Columbus Crew. Orlando looks to maintain the momentum earned after a 1-1 draw against the Philadelphia Union Saturday night.
First up on the list for Orlando is Toronto FC, who fell to the Crew 1-0 Saturday afternoon. The club is led by new Head Coach Ryan Nelsen, who wants to get his team on the right track in the preseason tournament after an opening day loss. Toronto is one of two clubs (Philadelphia) who have never defeated Orlando, with the Lions holding a 1-0-1 (W-L-T) advantage over the Reds in two matches played. The Toronto FC match kicks off at 8 p.m.
Orlando then quickly shifts focus to the Columbus Crew, facing the MLS side Saturday night. The Crew took down Toronto after a lone goal in the 30th minute by newly acquired Brazillian Centerback Glauber gave Columbus the win and three points.
Orlando has yet to face Columbus in preseason or US Open Cup action. The Crew, who opened the first-ever soccer specific stadium back in 1999, are led by coach Robert Warzycha and veteran Forward Dominic Oduro. The speedy striker was recently acquired in a trade with the Chicago Fire, scoring 18 goals in 66 appearances with the Fire over the span of two seasons.
