Orlando City Clinches Playoff Berth

Tonight's result in Charlotte, a 2-2 draw between Charlotte Eagles and Rochester Rhinos, means that Orlando City is guaranteed to finish in the top four of the American Division.

The Lions currently sit in first place in the American Division with three games remaining in the regular season.

Although the Lions have clinched a spot, do not expect the team to coast for the remainder of the season.

Head Coach Adrian Heath's squad is focused on winning home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, including the championship match.

"When we started the season, our goal was to finish at the top of the league" said Heath.

"We're three wins from doing that."

Next up for Orlando City is a weekday match against Charleston Battery on Wednesday, August 3.

A win over the Battery would bring the Lions one step closer to winning the regular season title.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm at the Citrus Bowl.
