
Opening Weekend Doubleheader Sees Viewership Increase over 2014

ESPN2's opening-weekend WNBA doubleheader Sunday, June 14, showcasing the league champions from the past three seasons - Indiana Fever (2012 champions) vs. the Chicago Sky (a 2014 finalist) and the Minnesota Lynx (2013 champions) vs. the Phoenix Mercury (2014 champions) - combined to average 278,000 viewers (P2+), up 31 percent over ESPN2's 2014 opener featuring the Chicago Sky at New York Liberty (213,000).
Sunday's top metered markets were: Las Vegas (0.6), Richmond (0.5), Washington, D.C. (0.5), Raleigh-Durham (0.5) and Minneapolis-St. Paul (0.4).
ESPN, ESPN2 and WatchESPN will carry 11 regular-season games, in addition to ABC's presentation of the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2015 game Saturday, July 25, from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
