Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release
The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks will be playing their first 2003 season game this Thursday, May 8, beginning at 7:15 p.m. Gates open at 6:15 p.m. Wendy's of Missouri is sponsoring the night. The Ducks will be giving away schedule magnets to the first 1000 fans. There will be a Fireworks Spectacular after the game. Plus, $1 from all ticket sales for Opening Night will be donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and prizes will be given away all night long courtesy of Price Cutter. If you need to buy tickets for any of the Ducks games, go to www.mountainducksbaseball.com and click on e-tix. You will be able to purchase and print out your tickets when you're sitting at home. Myers & McClasky Signed
The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks have signed ex-Kansas City Royals player Rod Myers and ex-Marlins pitcher Tim McClasky.
Myers, a 6'0" 190 lbs. Lefty outfielder, born in 1973 in Texas, played with the Kansas City Royals for two seasons in 1996 and 1997. During his 53 games, he made 3 homeruns, a total At Bats of 164, 23 runs, and 14 doubles, with an on-base percentage of .365.
McClasky, a 5'10" right handed pitcher, played for the Marlins and Mariners. In 2002, he split the season between Midland, Visalia, and Sacramento. His average .PCT is .585 with an average ERA of 3.68. McClasky started 17 out of 19 games with Visalia.
Promotional Nights
MAY 10th â Fan Fest 2003 and Baseball Nite in the Ozarks, game begins at 7:15 p.m., gates open at 3:00 p.m. Ducks Caps will be given away to the first 1000 fans 21 & older. Before the game begins, kids will be able to "Round the Bases." Gates open up at a special time of 3pm. Come and meet the 2003 Ducks players on the field from 3-5 p.m. Take batting practice, throw the ball around, get autographs and photos! From 5-6pm GameTime Food Service is running a special at the news Ducks Grill on the 3rd Base picnic area. Get a hot dog or hamburger right off the grill along with baked beans, potato salad, chips and a soda for just $6.
MAY 11th â Family Night & Ladies Day, game begins at 4:5 p.m., gates open at 3:15 p.m. Hazel's Flowers and Gifts are sponsoring the night. Carnations will be given to all moms in attendance. All ladies will receive admission for any seat in the house for only $2.
