Open tryouts for the Quebec City Kebs a success

Talented players from across North America came to Quebec City to compete on Saturday, November 21st at the Quebec City Kebs open tryouts held at the Cegep Limoilou. The tryouts attracted many new faces eager to burst on to the professional basketball scene and several professional players with experience in the PBL and overseas. The United States was well represented by players from Las Vegas, New York, Vermont, North Carolina and even Alabama. Canadian players came from Toronto, Hamilton, Quebec, Pierrefonds, St Jean Chrysostome, Maple and Montreal.

The players started the warm up lead by the Assistant Coach at 1:00pm and with the first match starting at 1:30. Hasbani critically observing each players skill set, communication, leadership and potential to join The Quebec City Kebs. When Coach Hasbani was asked what he thought of the size of the tryout and the skill set present his response was "We are very pleased with the results, the tryout is a good size and we have players from across North America." When the tryouts were over the Kebs Assistant Coach was sure that they will have 4 perhaps 5 of the players from the tryouts at the training camp.

Among the players trying out were Cordell Jeanty and Alexandre Prophète who had previously played for the Kebs and a few surprise players like Justin Darlington aka Jus Fly from Toronto and Lansen Leach who played for the Augusta Groove. President of the Kebs Raymond Boisvert was impressed by the tryouts happy to see a good mix of seasoned players and some exciting new talent on the court. "I am extremely impressed by one or two of the new players out there. I think they have the right skills and just need a little guidance to develop them." Jonas Pierre and crew were also there to check out the fresh talent and skills on the court.

About the Québec City Kebs

The Québec City Kebs is a professional basketball team that competes in the Premier Basketball League (PBL). Composed of 10 teams from Halifax, Las Vegas, Oklahoma, Maryland, Vermont, New Hampshire, Buffalo, Rochester, Puerto Rico and Quebec, the PBL is based in North America placing only second in popularity to the NBA and its subsidiaries. The Québec City Kebs are the only professional basketball team in the Quebec province and 2010 will be the start of their 4th professional season. The 2010 season begins January 2nd.
