Strong Island Sound News Release
Long Island, NY. Now that our inaugural season has ended, we want to thank all of our fans, friends and our many teammates that have made this year a great success. In completing our first season in the ABA, we enjoyed the team work of not only our players on the floor, but also the many players who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our players on the court bringing all of us quality basketball.
First, we would like to thank Sheykan Bayke, our trust mascot for not only being there throughout the season and traveling with us during the playoffs, but for also building us one of the best websites in the ABA. Suruj Roopnarine, for not only keeping the stats straight, but for being an invaluable member of the coaching staff. Joe Pietaro for all of your efforts which are priceless. Our interns, Stephen Gelk, Michael Pannhorst and Stefanie Franzino, without whom game days would not have run smoothly.
To the staffs at Suffolk Community College and St. Joseph's College, your made your homes feel like our homes. Our trainer at Excel Rehab, Keith, thanks for being 'the Man." Our team doctors at Long Island Ortho, Dr.'s Bryand and Phil, are the best in the business. The Vecchio boys for being our voice. Boby Santos and the Brian M Mooney Color Guard for presenting our country with total honor and everyone else, too many to mention that helped us be successful this season.
Even though the playing season is over, our work is only beginning. Sign up today for our email news for the latest information on camps, appearances and the latest on our players. Thank you again for a great first year and we look forward to seeing everyone next season. For more information, visit www.strongislandsound.com or wwwabalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
