Ontario's Walls Named ECHL Athletic Trainer of the Year

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that Bobby Walls of the Ontario Reign is the 2009-10 recipient of the ECHL Athletic Trainer of the Year Award, presented by Reebok Hockey.

The winner is determined in a vote of the league's athletic trainers. Walls will receive a pair of 11K skates from Reebok Hockey in recognition of his win.

Walls completed his second season with the Reign in 2009-10 and was part of the training staff for the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game held in Ontario in January. He joined the Reign after serving in a similar capacity for Long Beach of the ECHL and also has worked for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League as rehabilitation trainer. Walls also has experience as an assistant athletic trainer for the University of Southern California men's basketball team. Certified with the National Athletic Trainers Association and a certified Emergency Medical Technician, Walls received his bachelor's degree in physical education with an emphasis on athletic training and a minor in biology from California State University Dominguez Hills. He was the head student trainer at Cerritos College from 1996-99 and was the head trainer at North Torrance High School from 1998-2002.
