Worcester Sharks News Release


WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced that the Worcester Sharks jersey auction on www.SharksAHL.com will conclude on Sunday, June 14th at 6 p.m. (EST).

The online auction began on Sunday, June 7th at 6 p.m. (EST) and will conclude on Sunday, June 14th at 6 p.m. (EST). This will be the first of two online auctions on SharksAHL.com.

The Sharks sported the game worn jerseys throughout the second half of the 2008-09 season and consist some of the most prolific players ever to suit up for the Worcester Sharks; including four time Stanley Cup Champion Claude Lemieux, and NHL veteran defenseman Kyle McLaren. Sharks fans will have the opportunity to bid on the following jerseys on www.SharksAHL.com through June 14th at 6 p.m:

The following jerseys are game worn from the 2008-09 season:

Patrick Traverse: black jersey - led all Sharks defenseman with 42 points.

Kyle McLaren: gray jersey - a veteran of 719 NHL games, made his AHL debut this season dressing in 22 games with Worcester.

Jason Demers: white jersey - led all Sharks with a +15 in his rookie season

Brad Staubitz: gray jersey - made his NHL debut this season playing in 35 games. Had 10 fights in 38 games with Worcester.

Brendan Buckley: black jersey - veteran defenseman recorded nine points and 92 penalty minutes in his first season with Sharks

Mike Moore: black jersey - voted Sharks "Rookie of the Year" and was one of the best open ice hitters in the AHL.

Tom Cavanagh: gray jersey - scored first NHL goal this season while adding 15 goals in just 51 games in Worcester.

T.J. Fox: gray jersey - led the Sharks with 79 games played this season and had a three game goal scoring streak in playoffs.

Steven Zalewski: white jersey - scored 39 points in 73 games this his first professional season with the Sharks.

Ryan Vesce: black Jersey - Sharks team captain, MVP, and All-Star. Finished 13th in the AHL scoring race with 71 points.

Cory Larose: white jersey - scored 19 goals in 53 games with Worcester this season.

Riley Armstrong: gray jersey - led all Sharks with 25 goals and made his NHL debut this season.

Matt Fornataro: gray jersey - scored ten goals in 51 games this rookie season. Was also named an ECHL All-Star.

Lukas Kaspar: white jersey - ranked 2nd in Worcester with 44 points while adding his first two NHL tallies in 13 games in San Jose.

Brett Westgarth: white jersey - voted Sharks "unsung hero" and was 2nd on the club with 15 fighting majors.

Derek Joslin: gray jersey - set franchise record with 11 goals as a defenseman. AHL All-Star that also saw his first 12 games in NHL.

Thomas Greiss: white jersey - set Worcester Sharks record with 30 wins this season.

Claude Lemieux: black jersey - four-time Stanley Cup Champion and Conn Smyth winner played 23 games in Worcester this season.

Andrew Desjardins: black jersey - voted Sharks "unsung hero" racking up 22 points and 99 penalty minutes in his first season in AHL.

Logan Couture: black jersey - 9th overall pick by San Jose in 2007 draft. Scored two goals in 12 playoff games in Worcester.

Jamie McGinn: gray jersey - led all Worcester rookies with 19 goals in just 47 games. Scored first four NHL goals this season in 35 games.

The following jersey is game issued:

Devin Setoguchi: gray jersey - scored 31 goals this season with San Jose.

All jerseys will include a certificate of authenticity.
