Omaha Vipers Add Players to the Roster

(Omaha) - The Omaha Vipers continue to build the team and added the following players to the roster this week:
Andre Gustavo Sandri Silva, known as "Deco," is a 5-foot-9, 155-pound midfielder who played for the same Malwee futsal club from which Brazilian Marcio Leite was discovered. Deco is just 22 years old and played a center position with Malwee. In 2007, he had 38 goals and 49 assists in 53 games playing for both Malwee's adult team and junior squad. Silva played for the Milwaukee Wave's Armada and most recently in Italy.
Frederico Moojen 'Freddy" is a 5' 11" Brazilian soccer forward who plays for the TTM Phichit F.C. He shared the 2005 and 2006 Premier Development League goals lead. He was also the 2006 PDL MVP and the 2006-2007 MISL Rookie of the Year. In 1997, Moojen played for Coritiba Foot Ball Club's youth team. He was briefly with International in 2001 before signing with Avaà Futebol Clube, playing with them from 2001 to 2004.[1] Moojen attended Lincoln Memorial University where he was a two time Gulf South Conference Player of the Year and a 2005 NCAA Division II third team All American.[2] He transferred to Clemson University where he played the 2006 NCAA Division I season.[3] In 2004, he played for the Cocoa Expos in the fourth division Premier Development League. He returned to the Expos in 2005, scoring 18 goals tying him with Andy Metcalf as the league's leading scorer. In 2006, Moojen played for the Augusta FireBall, sharing the goal scoring lead with John Cunliffe.[4] He was also the 2006 PDL MVP.
Chris Brunt, a 5'10" defender from Omaha, NE played for Missouri State before being drafted by the Wizards in 2002 where he played for 2 years. From there, he went to the Minnesota Thunder until 2006 and then to the Charleston Battery. Coaching followed with a stint with the Omaha Legends and his current business "Happy Feet" - a mobile soccer clinic for children ages 2 to 6.
The Omaha Vipers are the MISL's newest franchise and will begin play November 21, 2010 vs. Missouri (Kansas City) Comets at 3:05pm at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Season tickets are now on-sale at 402.932.3335 or on-line at www.omahavipers.com . The 12 game package can be purchased for $96 up to $216. A twenty-five dollar (per ticket) deposit will hold your tickets until November 1st.
