Omaha Nighthawks News Release

OMAHA, NE - Monday, April 9 - The Omaha Nighthawks will hold their final round of open player tryouts back on home ground, as the search for talented players for the upcoming 2011 United Football League season continues at Bellevue West High School.

Having spread the tryouts net to Jacksonville, Florida, and Dallas, Texas, in a bid to unearth talent for the new campaign, head coach JOE MOGLIA and the Nighthawks staff will move closer to home at Bellevue West High School (1501 Thurston Avenue) in Bellevue, NE, on Saturday, April 9.

Football fans are welcome to attend the tryouts to see if they can spot which hopefuls have what it takes to pull on a Nighthawks jersey for the team's second season.

"We anticipate a wealth of talented players to come to Bellevue from throughout Nebraska and across the Midwest as we offer them a chance to show they deserve to be on our roster," said Nighthawks General Manager RICK MUELLER.

"This is when we find that unexpected star who makes an impact during the season, but would never have had such an opportunity but for these open tryouts. The local tryout will be special, primarily because it is in our home town."

Registration for all prospects other than kickers and punters is from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and the tryouts will now run at the new time of 10am to 12.30pm. Kickers and punters may register at 12pm with tryouts from 1pm to 3pm.

Players must register at http://www.ufl-football.com/tryouts/nighthawks and can also contact Nighthawks player personnel staff Matt.Boockmeier@UFL-Football.com and Greg.Mohns@UFL-Football.com. The cost to tryout is $60 payable in cash on April 9.
