Omaha Fan Fest Mini Camp Time Changes

OMAHA, NE - Monday, July 19 - The Omaha Nighthawks will hold a Mini Camp and Fan Fest from July 23 - 25, giving local football fans their first look at some of the players who will represent Omaha when the 2010 United Football League season kicks off in September.

The Fan Fest will now being at the earlier time of 9am on Saturday, July 24, at Papillion-La Vista High School, gives Nighthawks fans the opportunity to meet players, coaches and cheerleaders, get autographs, take pictures and enjoy an exciting day full of fun! In addition, there will be radio broadcast remotes, a DJ, inflatables, face painting, clowns and food available from Godfather's Pizza - the Official Pizza Sponsor of the Omaha Nighthawks.

"We expect thousands of people to attend as this is a great opportunity for Omaha Nighthawks fans to meet the players, coaches and cheerleaders up close and personal," said team Director of Business Operations DON IGO. "Fan Fest allows fans to get closer to Nighthawks players than they can with any other league, and there are opportunities to buy season tickets and Nighthawks merchandise and enjoy many other exciting activities."

Among the Nighthawks star names taking part will be former Green Bay Packers all-time leading rusher AHMAN GREEN; wide receiver CRAPHONSO THORPE, who was among the candidates for the UFL Player of the Season with the New York Sentinels in 2009; and former Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders defensive back TONY DORSETT JR, who has played in two Super Bowls.

"I am excited and eager to get out onto the field with our players and take the first step towards molding a team for the new season," said Nighthawks Coach JEFF JAGODZINSKI. "There is a lot of buzz around Omaha about this team and now we can get down to football and really build something for people to be excited about. It will be a special few days with the fans out there watching us practice."

Media and Nighthawks fans are invited to attend Fan Fest and the 9am Saturday morning practice. The rest of the Mini Camp practices are closed.

FOR FANS: Fans can park on the north side of the field near the Fan Fest activities. Papillion-La Vista High School is located at 402 E. Centennial Road just east of 84th Street.

The Omaha Nighthawks season begins at home on Friday, September 24, at Rosenblatt Stadium. There has been a tremendous interest and response for season tickets, which are still available at www.UFL-Football.com/tickets.
