Isaias Tejeda has done plenty of damage against Lancaster teams over the past decade.
He continued the trend Tuesday evening.
Tejeda went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI to pace the Charleston Dirty Birds to a 7-5 win over the Stormers in the opener of a six-game series at GoMart Ballpark.
It was Lancaster's fourth consecutive loss.
The Charleston first baseman singled home Jhon Nunez, who had doubled off Ethen Firoved (0-2), with the game's first run in the second inning. Two innings later, he gave the Dirty Birds the lead to stay with a two-run homer.
The Stormers had taken a 2-1 lead against David Lebron (4-5) in the third. Corey Rosier drew a leadoff walk, stole second and took third on a wild pitch and scored on a one-out single to right by Aaron Schunk. Schunk took second on a balk and scored when Tristin English lined a double off the left field wall.
Prior to Tejeda's homer, the Dirty Birds tied the game in the fourth. Narciso Crook walked, stole second and took third on a throwing error. He came home, following a grounder to third by Carlos De La Cruz.
Rosier again scored on an RBI by Schunk in the top of the fifth, but Crook homered in the bottom of the fifth for a 5-3 lead, which eventually built to a 7-3 edge.
The Stormers got two runs back in the top of the ninth on a leadoff single by Tyler Miller, a throwing error, a wild pitch, balk and sacrifice fly by Nathan Martorella.
Noah Bremer (8-5) will make the start for the Stormers on Wednesday evening against right-hander Jordan Jackson (5-7). Fans may tune into Dugout TV, powered by HomeTeam Network, starting at 6:30.
NOTES: Martorella, the two-time defending Player of the Week, went 0-for-3, losing his 14-game hitting streak...English snapped a four-game RBI drought...Schunk has 18 RBI in 18 games...He has either scored or driven in a run in 16 of his 18 games.
