Los Angeles Avengers News Release
LOS ANGELES - Even though it is their day off, Avenger players regularly take part in "Double Days" ... the team's community outreach program that makes a pair of visits to schools and/or hospitals on either Monday or Tuesday each week.
This week, offensive/defensive lineman and "A-Team" dancers Katie and Lindsey spent the day visiting with the children at the Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach on Monday, April 17.
"Visiting with these kids today puts everything in perspective," Seals said. "It means a lot to these children and their families for us to come and visit."
Miller Children's Hospital has been providing a complete range of primary and specialty care for children of all ages, from newborns to young adults, for more than 30 years. The hospital was established in 1970 at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in recognition that, as hospital patients, children often have very different needs and requirements than adults.
Miller Children's Hospital is one of only two children's hospitals in Los Angeles County. We have cultivated a regional and national reputation for our quality of care, compassionate medical and nursing staffs, and parents and medical professionals have come to know us and trust us over the years.
The Avengers are in their seventh season in the 20-year-old AFL. The defending Western Division champion Los Angeles Avengers (3-9) will face the New York Dragons (7-5) on Sunday, April 23, at STAPLES Center.
The game is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will be televised live on FSN West. The contest also will be broadcast live on AM 570 and in Spanish on KWKU 1220-AM.
