LAST GAME: Oklahoma batters walked nine times, including once with the bases loaded in a five-run second inning, and the RedHawks beat the Royals 7-3 Saturday evening. Michael Ballard allowed three runs over five innings and surrendered back-to-back home runs to Kila Ka'aihue and Damon Hollins in the fifth, but still picked up his second Triple-A win. Yukinaga Maeda and Jose Diaz pitched four scoreless innings of relief, with Diaz Notching his second save of the week. Nate Gold paced the RedHawks offensive efforts with a pair of runs batted in.

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT: Oklahoma improved to 16-6 on Saturdays this season. The RedHawks have gone 4-1 on Saturdays since the All-Star break. Oklahoma is, however, just 8-12 on Sundays. The RedHawks also improved to 10-4 on travel days this season, and 19-14 in the first game of a series.

ROBERTS STREAK ROLLS ON:

Ryan Roberts had a pair of hits and extended his hitting streak to 12 games, matching Jason Ellison and Nate Gold for the third longest streak of the season. Ellison hit .337 during his 12-game streak in April, while Gold batted .395 during his run in late June and early July. Roberts is hitting .375 over this recent stretch with 18 hits in his last 48 at bats. The RedHawks infielder has also improved defensively in recent weeks, having played ten straight error free games and only having committed two miscues since July 1 (39 games).

MENDOZA OPTIONED:

Texas optioned Luis Mendoza to the RedHawks on Friday when Kevin Millwood was activated from the disabled list. Mendoza was recalled for his second stint with Texas on June 20 and went 3-4 with a 7.86 earned run average for the Rangers over 11 games, including eight starts. Overall this season, the right-hander has a 3-6 record for Texas with an ERA of 8.16.

LOE RECALLED AGAIN:

The Rangers recalled Kameron Loe prior to Saturday's win over Tampa Bay. This will be Loe's fourth stint with Texas this season, where he has complied a 1-0 record with a 4.35 earned run average over five relief appearances.

LIVING ON THE LEFTIES:

Oklahoma has faced a left-handed starter in four straight games heading into tonight's matchup against Omaha and southpaw Dusty Hughes. The RedHawks win last night improved their season mark to 19-13 against left-handed starters, including a 3-1 record over the last four games. Oklahoma is batting .280 against lefties this season, ten points higher than their average against right-handers.

OMAHA AT A GLANCE:

Dusty Hughes did not face the RedHawks when Omaha and Oklahoma met earlier this season. Hughes began the year with Northwest Arkansas in the Texas League, going 5-3 with three saves and a 2.91 ERA for the Naturals prior to his promotion to Omaha in mid-June. Hughes started the first game after the back-to-back doubleheaders at Rosenblatt Stadium... Damon Hollins is hitting .393 against the RedHawks this season with 11 hits in 28 at bats, including three homes runs, and has driven in 11 of the 68 runs the Royals have scored in the season-long series.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Oklahoma's magic number is 9... The RedHawks victory last night was the 19th in 62 chances when getting outhit by the opposition (19-43)... Drew Meyer is 0-19 with five walks in his last 24 plate appearances. Meyer's last hit was a first inning double on August 11 in Albuquerque... Texas optioned Tommy Hunter to Oklahoma Saturday and a corresponding roster move will need to be made to clear a spot on the RedHawks active roster. Hunter went 0-2 with a 16.36 ERA over three starts for the Rangers.
