Oke And Needham Return

February 12, 2008 - SPHL (SPHL)
Richmond Renegades News Release

The Richmond Renegades today announced that defenseman NATHAN OKE and forward BRETT NEEDHAM were being reassigned to Richmond by Kalamazoo Wings of the IHL.

In 31 games with the Wings, OKE had one goal to go along with four assists, 16 PIM's and was a minus four.

NEEDHAM appeared in nine games and had one goal with one assist; was a plus one and accumulated four PIM's.

It is expected that both OKE and NEEDHAM will be with the Renegades for the weekend series against the Huntsville Havoc and they expect to remain with the team for the balance of the season.

"We are very excited that Nathan and Brett are back in the fold," stated Allan B. Harvie, Jr., team President and GM. "They will play a very big part in our stretch drive just as they did earlier in the season."

Earlier in the day the Renegades placed forward TYLER SCHREMP on waivers allowing him to be picked up by any SPHL club. SCHREMP was a second year pro with the team and this season saw his production drop in 31 games to 3 goals and 13 assists. Last season in 52 games he had 15 goals and 23 assists. SCHREMP injured his ankle early in the 2007-08 season and has not been able to get his scoring touch back.

"I'm not having fun any more so it's time to go home and see if I really want to keep doing this," noted Schremp.

The Renegades continue a five game road trip this weekend with a double header at Huntsville followed by a return trip west next weekend against Columbus and Huntsville. They return home for a weekend of action on February 29 against Twin City and March 1 vs. Fayetteville.
