Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers try for a series win when they close out a six-game road set against the Salt Lake Bees at 2:05 p.m. CT at Smith's Ballpark. The Dodgers lead the series, 3-2, and have won 10 of their 14 games following the All-Star Break but have lost two of the last three games.

Last Game: In a tie game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jake Gatewood hit a walk-off home run to send the Salt Lake Bees to a 4-3 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark. The Bees erased three separate deficits throughout the game and hit three home runs, the first two each tying the game. The Dodgers took a lead in the first inning on an error, but Matt Thaiss homered on the first pitch of the bottom of the second inning to make it 1-1. In the third inning, Drew Avans tripled and scored on a sac fly by Edwin Ríos before Kyle Kasser hit a game-tying homer in the bottom of the inning. Ryan Noda launched a homer in the fourth inning to regain the lead at 3-2. Dillon Thomas tied the game with a RBI double in the sixth inning, and the score stayed 3-3 until Gatewood's game-winning home run.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Robbie Erlin (5-2) is scheduled to make his 10th start of the season following four straight piggyback appearances...Erlin followed Andre Jackson Tuesday in Salt Lake, allowing one run and three hits over 2.2 innings with one walk and four strikeouts. He was credited with a hold in the team's 2-1 win...He threw 3.1 scoreless innings against Sugar Land July 27 in OKC and was the winning pitcher in the team's 6-3 win, recording the final 10 outs. He allowed one hit and one walk and tallied five strikeouts, retiring 10 of 12 batters faced overall...The lefty has also made two appearances for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season in early May...Erlin has appeared in 117 games (43 starts) in the Majors, primarily with San Diego, and was selected by Texas in the third round of the 2009 MLB Draft from Scotts Valley High School (Calif.)...In addition to his appearance Tuesday, Erlin also started against Salt Lake June 10 in OKC. He pitched 5.0 scoreless and hitless innings with three walks and five strikeouts and did not factor into the decision of OKC's eventual 5-3 defeat in 10 innings.

Against the Bees: 2022: 5-3 2021: 7-5 All-time: 64-58 At SL: 31-31 The Dodgers and Bees are meeting for the second of three series in 2022 and their first at Smith's Ballpark...The teams met at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for a three-game set June 10-12, with OKC taking the final two games to win the series. Twice in the series, the Dodgers rallied to tie the game or take the lead in the eighth inning or later...The Dodgers won last season's series, 7-5, including wins in five of the last six meetings. The road team went 9-3 during the season series and the Bees won four of six in Oklahoma City for their first series win against OKC since 2013...In 2021, the Dodgers outscored Salt Lake, 77-62, and outhit the Bees, 119-110...The Dodgers have won or split the last seven season series with the Bees, posting a 6-0-1 record during that time...Since OKC became affiliated with the Dodgers, the team owns a 25-13 advantage against the Bees in the Triple-A version of the Freeway Series, but are 9-7 at home compared to 16-6 in Salt Lake...Going back to last season, the Dodgers have won 10 of the last 14 games against the Bees overall and eight of the last 11 games at Smith's Ballpark.

Life At The Top: The Dodgers lead the PCL with a 62-42 record and have a 3.0-game lead ahead of second-place El Paso. The Dodgers have the league's second-best record both at home (34-20) and on the road (28-22). El Paso leads with a 32-18 home record and Reno has the top road record at 32-18....After a season-high five-game losing streak July 1-5, the Dodgers have gone 15-9 since and have won four of the last six games. Their 15 wins since July 6 are second-most in the league behind Reno's 18 wins.

Drew Dat: Drew Avans reached base three times Saturday, going 2-for-3 with a triple, walk and two runs scored tallying two of OKC's four total hits and recording his team-leading 23rd stolen base of the season. He has now reached base seven times in the last two games and extended his on-base streak to 43 games for the longest on-base streak by an OKC player during the team's affiliation with the Los Angeles Dodgers (since 2015). Avans owns the longest active on-base streak in the Minors and has reached base in 57 of his last 58 games and hit safely in 26 of the last 30 games...Avans owns one of five on-base streaks of at least 43 games recorded this season in the Minors. The last PCL player with an on-base streak longer than 39 games was Nashville's Nick Martini, who reached base in 66 straight games during the 2018 season (April 14-Sept. 1). The last OKC player with an on-base streak longer than 43 games was Joe Sclafani, who reached base in 45 straight games July 4-Sept. 1, 2014...Avans has also hit safely in 20 of the last 23 games, batting .330 (32x97)...From the start of the season through May 31 (31 games), Avans batted .235 (20x85) with seven extra-base hits, eight RBI and 15 runs scored. Since June 1 (52 games), Avans is batting .320 (65x203) with 13 doubles, five triples, three homers, 21 RBI, 25 walks and 45 runs scored. During that span he ranks tied for first in the PCL with five triples, third with 65 hits, tied for third with 45 runs and fourth with 16 stolen bases and a .403 OBP.

Beast Node: Ryan Noda hit his 18th home run of the season Saturday, as well as his second in the last three games, third in the last six games, fifth in the last 11 games and sixth in the last 14 games. Across the last three games, Noda is 6-for-11 with two home runs and a double while notching seven RBI. He has picked up at least one RBI in four straight games for a total of eight RBI and now has 16 RBI over his last 11 games...His 18 homers are second-most among Dodgers players, while his 56 walks pace the team (2nd in PCL). Noda's 63 RBI this season are tied for seventh in the league.

On the Mend: Edwin Ríos went 1-for-2 with a double and sacrifice fly last night as he continued his Major League Rehab Assignment. He has hit safely in five straight games, going 6-for-19 with four doubles. Overall during his seven games with OKC since July 28, Ríos is 6-for-22 with four doubles, two RBI and three runs scored. He was initially placed on the Los Angeles Dodgers' Injured List June 3 with a right hamstring injury and was transferred to the 60-day IL June 22.

Mound Matters: The OKC pitching staff notched 12 strikeouts Saturday for a fifth straight double-digit strikeout game (61 K). The team did not allow a walk for only the third time this season and first time since June 18 at Reno. It was the team's most strikeouts in a game without a walk since Aug. 9, 2018 vs. Memphis (13 K)...Starting pitcher Michael Grove tied his season high with 5.0 innings in a no decision. Although Grove retired 15 of the 17 batters he faced, the two batters he did not retire hit home runs. Grove did not allow a walk and set a season high with seven strikeouts...OKC held Salt Lake 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position last night, and opponents are now 8-for-51 (.157) with RISP over the last eight games...Over the 14 games out of the All-Star Break, the Dodgers have posted a 3.48 ERA (49 ER/126.2 IP) and have allowed four or fewer runs in 11 of 14 games. From June 29 leading up to the All-Star Break, the Dodgers had 7.63 ERA over 17 games...Last night was the fewest runs allowed in a loss since another 4-3 defeat at the hands of Las Vegas July 9 in Oklahoma City. The Dodgers are now 18-2 over the last 20 games when allowing four or fewer runs.

Dinger Details: With Ryan Noda's solo home run last night, the Dodgers have homered in six straight games (11 HR) and in 13 of the last 14 games, swatting 23 homers during the span. Of those 23 homers, 12 have been hit with at least one runner on base, including seven of the last 12. The Dodgers also have eight multi-homer outings during the last 14 games...On the other hand, the Dodgers allowed three home runs Saturday, marking the eighth game of the season with three-plus homers allowed. The team has allowed at least two homers in eight of 14 games since the All-Star Break (20 HR). Entering Saturday, the Dodgers had not allowed a home run in three of the previous four games...Saturday marked the second walk-off home run hit against OKC this season and first since El Paso's Aderlin Rodríguez on April 14...The Dodgers are 5-3 against Salt Lake this season. OKC is 5-0 when not allowing a homer by the Bees, but 0-3 when Salt Lake hits at least one home run.

J-Mart Special: Jason Martin was held 0-for-4 Saturday after going 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and four runs scored Friday. His performance Friday marked his second game this season with four hits, including three for extra bases, as he went 4-for-4 with two homers and a double July 1 at El Paso. He also tied his season high with four runs scored (May 12 at Round Rock) and finished with his fourth multi-homer game of 2022...Martin ranks second in the PCL with a career-high 24 home runs and 80 RBI. He also ranks among the league's top-five players in OPS (3rd, .966), extra-base hits (4th, 47), total bases (4th, 194), SLG (4th, .588), runs (T-4th, 77) and triples (T-5th, 5)...Martin's 14 home runs since June 25 (33 games) are most in the Minors, while his 33 RBI during the same span are tied for eighth-most in the Minors.

Close Calls: Including last night, three of the five games in the current series have been decided by one run, as have four of the Dodgers' last six games and five of the Dodgers' last eight games. OKC is now 17-11 in one-run games this season, which is second-best in the PCL behind Reno at 22-13. During last year's 129-game schedule, OKC was 13-22 in one-run games and had the league's worst record in such contests...Last night was the third time this season an opponent won in walk-off fashion. It was also the sixth last at-bat win by an opponent, but the first since Salt Lake notched a 5-3 win in 10 innings June 10 in OKC.

Around the Horn: The Dodgers' offense was held to four hits Saturday, and it's just the second time since June 29 the team was held to fewer than five hits. OKC had racked up 32 hits over the previous three games...Saturday's game was completed in 2 hours, 12 minutes, marking the Dodgers' quickest nine-inning game of the season. The start of the game was delayed by 43 minutes due to field maintenance following heavy rain in the afternoon. It was the team's 15th nine-inning game to be completed under 2 hours, 30 minutes this season. That only happened twice in 118 nine-inning games last year...The Dodgers are 7-3 in series finales when aiming for a series win, but that drops to 4-3 in six-game series finales. The team has lost three straight road series finales entering today...The Dodgers have both drawn and allowed exactly 502 walks this season - most among all Triple-A teams...The Dodgers are 10-9 in day games this season. After today, the team won't play another day game until Sept. 7 at home against Tacoma...The Dodgers went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position Saturday and are now 10-for-the-last-57 with RISP and 12-for-65 (.185) over the last seven games.
