Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Comets aim to even their series against the Albuquerque Isotopes when the series continues at 6:35 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...The Isotopes won Tuesday's series opener as the Comets lost for the second time in the last three games, but for just the second time in the last 12 games.

Last Game: The Albuquerque Isotopes scored 12 runs across the final five innings in a 13-7 win over the Comets Tuesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Albuquerque scored the game's first run on a RBI single in the second inning. OKC took the lead in the third inning with a two-run homer by Zach Ehrhard. The Comets put up two more runs in the fourth with a leadoff blast from Hyeseong Kim followed by a Noah Miller sacrifice fly. Albuquerque proceeded to score 10 straight runs over the next four innings. The Isotopes tied the game with a three-run fifth inning and later put the game away with five runs in the eighth inning to take an 11-4 lead. Alex Freeland connected on a two-run homer in the eighth inning, but Albuquerque then plated two runs in the ninth inning. Ryan Fitzgerald got one run back for the Comets with a two-out RBI single in OKC's final at-bat.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Emmet Sheehan (0-0) makes his second start for Oklahoma City after spending the season in the Dodgers' rotation prior to being optioned Aug. 3...Sheehan made his first start with OKC Aug. 8 at Salt Lake in a scheduled abbreviated outing. He faced just four batters and threw 22 pitches (12 strikes) with two runs, one hit and one walk in a no decision...Across 20 starts with the Dodgers this season, Sheehan went 4-8 with a 5.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and .252 BAA. At the time of his option, Sheehan was tied for the team lead in starts and ranked second in strikeouts (108). He has set ML career highs in starts, innings (95.1) and strikeouts. However, across his final nine starts with the Dodgers, Sheehan struggled and posted a 6.51 ERA...Sheehan rejoins Oklahoma City for his third season along with 2023 and 2025...He was drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Boston College.

Against the Isotopes: 2026: 8-8 2025: 10-8 All-time: 172-143 At OKC: 92-64

The Comets play their fourth and final series of the season against the Isotopes...OKC won two of the first three series of 2026, most recently taking four of six games at Isotopes Park May 12-17. The Comets won the final four games of that series while scoring double-digit runs in each win, including a season-high 20 runs in the finale...The Isotopes won the April 14-19 series in Albuquerque, 4-2, after the Comets won two of three games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Opening Weekend March 27-29...Of the Comets' eight victories in the season series, they've won by at least seven runs five times...The Comets entered this week's series hitting .323 against the Isotopes with Noah Miller, Ryan Fitzgerald and James Tibbs III each recording 20 or more hits. Tibbs posted a team-leading 20 RBI...The Comets won the 2025 series, 10-8, with eight of those games decided by one run...OKC seeks a third straight season series win against Albuquerque this week as the Isotopes last won a season series between the teams in 2023.

August Ascent: Despite a loss last night, the Comets have won 10 of their last 12 games to jump from five games above .500 overall to a season-high 14 games above .500 overall as recently as Sunday (63-49), and the Comets' 10-2 record since July 29 is tied with current opponent Albuquerque for best among all teams in the Minors...The 12-game stretch includes a nine-game winning streak July 29-Aug. 7, which was the longest for an Oklahoma City team since winning 10 games in a row May 9-19, 2023. It was also OKC's seventh winning streak of at least nine games during the Bricktown era (since 1998)...The Comets also won seven straight games earlier this season May 14-21, and this is the fourth time in the Bricktown era that OKC has recorded multiple winning streaks of at least seven games within the same season...OKC has won back-to-back series following a 1-2-5 stretch in series in June and July while going 20-24...OKC last won two or more consecutive series in May when they won five series in a row.

That's Offensive: The Comets scored at least six runs for the seventh straight game and for the 13th time in the last 14 games. Since July 26, the Comets' 113 runs scored are second-most among all Triple-A teams only behind this week's opponent Albuquerque (133)...OKC finished with 14 hits last night, reaching double figures for the fourth straight game (54 H) and sixth time over the last seven games (92 H)...Over a 13-game stretch starting July 28, the Comets are batting .327 (155-for-471) overall and .366 (63-for-172) with runners in scoring position. OKC has notched at least 10 hits in 10 of those 13 games...They have tallied 56 extra-base hits in that span, including seven last night...OKC homered three times Tuesday after the Comets had been limited to three homers over their previous seven games.

Bumps on the Bump: Albuquerque's 13 runs scored last night were the most allowed by the Comets in a home game this season and most since Round Rock put 13 on the board in a 13-4 win against OKC June 20, 2025 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...Albuquerque's 13 runs last night also marked the second time in the last three games OKC allowed 13 or more runs in a game as Salt Lake defeated OKC, 14-13, Saturday at The Ballpark at America First Square. Before Saturday, OKC had allowed as many as 13 runs in a game just once in the first 110 games of the season...The Comets have now allowed 32 runs over the last three games, the most by a Triple-A team since Aug. 8 and the most allowed by the Comets over a three-game span since April 17-19 in Albuquerque when the Isotopes scored 37 runs. Before Saturday, the Comets allowed a total of 30 runs during their nine-game winning streak...Albuquerque's eight extra-base hits Tuesday were a season high for an OKC opponent in Bricktown and the most allowed by OKC in a game overall this season since June 11 when Charlotte racked up nine extra-base hits. New Orleans was the last opponent to compile eight extra-base hits in Bricktown Sept. 1, 2019. The Isotopes collected back-to-back triples to begin the eighth inning after the Comets had allowed two total triples over the previous 36 games combined...Yesterday the Comets registered just five strikeouts, marking just the second time since June 26 (40 G) to finish with fewer than seven strikeouts...The Comets have allowed at least eight runs in each of their last five losses (54 R) and at least seven runs in eight of their last nine losses (81 R) and 10 of their last 12 losses (101 R).

Hard-Line: Zach Ehrhard went 3-for-5 with a double, homer, two RBI and two stolen bases last night to extend his on-base streak to 19 games, which is now tied for the third-longest on-base streak by a Comet this season...The outfielder is batting .365 (27-for-74) with 16 RBI, 19 walks and 22 runs scored during the stretch, posting a .490 OBP...Ehrhard also owns the Comets' longest on-base streak of the season of 29 games, May 1-June 9...He leads the PCL with 90 runs scored this season, while ranking third with 74 walks, fourth with 77 RBI, tied for fourth with 117 hits and fifth with a .409 OBP.

No Doubting Thomas: Alek Thomas went 1-for-4 with a double last night and is now 10-for-20 with four doubles, one triple and nine RBI over the last four games...Over his last 11 games, Thomas is 21-for-51 (.412) with 10 extra-base hits and 15 RBI. The 10 XBH since July 29 are second-most in the PCL.

Miller Time: Noah Miller went 3-for-3 with a RBI Tuesday and is on an eight-game hitting streak, going 15-for-34 (.441)...It was his third three-hit game in his last five contests (11-for-21). Over his first 101 games this season Miller recorded three hits just twice...Miller has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, batting .417 (20-for-48) with 10 RBI.

Loose Grips: Yesterday marked the third straight game the Comets lost a lead of at least three runs. During those three games, there have been four separate leads of at least thee runs opponents have overcome...In each of the Comets' last four losses, the team has led by at least three runs at one point during the game. Tuedsay was the 10th time this season OKC lost after leading by at least three runs, inlcuding three of their eight losses against the Isotopes.

Around the Horn: For the fifth time in the last six series, the Comets are down 0-1 in the series. They are now 1-5 over the last six home series openers, with losses in three straight....Ryan Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with a double Tuesday and leads all of Triple-A with 135 hits (second in Minors). He pitched the ninth inning, becoming the first OKC position player to pitch in three years...Over his last 10 games, Griffin Lockwood-Powell is 12-for-37 (.324) with seven doubles, six RBI and six walks.
