Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Saskatoon, Sask. - The Edmonton Oil Kings will look to get their first round WHL Playoff series back to even with the Saskatoon Blades tonight in game four.

Last night, the Oil Kings had a 3-1 lead slip away, and were outshot 14-4 in the third period, and 33-26 in the game. However, the Oil Kings dominated the second frame of the game, outshooting the Blades 17-5. They scored all three goals in that period, and they'll look to build off of that heading into an important game four tonight.

Edmonton has also seen their depth come out in the series, seeing 16 different players earn at least a point and eight players earning at least one goal. Last night, it was Noa Ta'amu and Ryan Gower getting their firsts in the playoffs, while Rhys Pederson, Austin Zemlak, and Josh Lee added assists. On the Saskatoon side, only 12 players have recorded at least a point, and just six different players have one goal.

The Oil Kings head into tonight looking to avoid losing back-to-back games for the first time since February 21 and 24. To help with that, scoring first, the Oil Kings could be looking to score first for the first time in this series as well.

Edmonton is 16-8-0 in game four's all-time.

Game time at SaskTel Centre is 7 p.m. tonight.
