
OHL Announces Disciplinary Action

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a review of an incident which took place in a game played in Belleville on the 25th of February, 2012, involving the Bulls and the visiting London Knights Hockey Club.
The incident reviewed was a 5 minute major and game misconduct for checking to the head assessed to player Alex Carnevale of the Belleville Bulls Hockey Club.
Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Alex Carnevale shall be suspended for eight (8) games, dating from but not including the game of Saturday, February 25th, 2012.

The league has taken the position, that for education purposes, any announcement regarding supplementary discipline will be supported by video footage and additional rationale for all incidents involving checking to the head, checking from behind, and others at the discretion of the league.
