
Officials set for UHL All-Star Classic

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Jim Hawthorne, Jerry Burt, and Doug Wood will be the on-ice officials for the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic.
Hawthorne is a resident of Ridgetown, Ontario and is currently in his 6th UHL season as a referee. He has officiated in the UHL Colonial Cup Finals in 2002, 2004, and 2005. Hawthorne works in sales for Canon Business Equipment in southwestern Ontario.
Burt, a St. Louis native, began officiating in 1980 and worked over 900 professional games. He has also worked All-Star Games in both the ECHL and IHL. Burt continues to work as video replay goal judge for the NHL.
Wood is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now resides in Maryland. He is officiating in his 6th UHL season and 10th professional overall. Wood is in his 10th year working for Nestle USA.
In addition, the UHL announced that John Searle and Jeff Parrish will be the on-ice officials for the All-Star Charity Game featuring St. Louis Blues Alumni vs. the UHL Commissioner's Team.
Searle has been a UHL official since the league began in 1991 as the Colonial Hockey League (CoHL). He resides in St. George, Ontario. Parrish is in his 10th UHL season as a linesman and currently resides in Detroit, Michigan.
"It is a great honor for these individuals to be selected as a part of the All-Star Classic," stated Brad Jones, UHL VP of Hockey Operations. "Each of these officials has earned this opportunity based on their performance. They continue to excel on the ice and display their commitment to the UHL."
The 2006 UHL All-Star Classic is being hosted by the Missouri River Otters on Wednesday, January 25th, 2006 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. Players representing all 14 UHL Member Clubs will participate in the annual hockey event.
The United Hockey League is celebrating its 15th season. The league is comprised of 14 Member Clubs competing in seven states. The Missouri River Otters are in their seventh season in the UHL and play their home games at the beautiful Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
