Utah Warriors News Release

West Valley City, UT -- 5/12/04 -- The Utah Warriors Professional Indoor Football Team today announced the signing of Dustin Rykert, a 2003 sixth round draft pick out of BYU. Rykert, 6'7 and 330 pounds, was a three year starter for the Cougars before being drafted by the Oakland Raiders.

Rykert played his first game for the Warriors on May 8 against the Lake Charles LandSharks, dominating the line of scrimmage and showing solid pass protection and strong, aggressive downfield blocking.

"He's simply the best offensive lineman I've seen in this league," said Lee Leslie, Head Coach. "Dustin has good quickness, sound technique, and an innate love for this game. He's a great addition to our front line."

"Playing with the Warriors is a great opportunity for me to get in front of some of the same fans that cheered for me at BYU," said Rykert. "It feels good to get the pads back on. I'm really looking forward to this chance to refocus and improve my game."

Rykert grew up in Roseville, California and graduated with a degree in Recreation Management from BYU. He now lives in American Fork and continues to work out with a number of NFL teams.
