Offense Hits Stride, Team Ready For March 1 Scrimmage

Portland Thunder News Release
PORTLAND, OR - Day 6 of Thunder training camp was little more than a walkthrough, as players left the shoulder pads in their rooms and focused on getting ready for tomorrow's season ticket holder-only scrimmage.
"That was the best practice the offense has had," said Head Coach Matthew Sauk. "I really wanted today to be a day where the guys get their bodies ready for tomorrow's scrimmage so they're ready. The hard part about being an offensive coach and a head coach is that you want the offense to do well, but you also need to see the defense doing well. Hopefully we'll see a lot of positives tomorrow."
Tomorrow's scrimmage will be the last action on the field before the roster is trimmed to just 28 players on Monday, and the team is attempting to make the event as much of a game simulation as possible. Team DJ, DJ O.G. One will be there with music, concessions will be available, and season ticket holders will fill the stands.
The Portland Thunder will kick off its inaugural season at the Moda Center on Monday, March 17th when they take on the San Jose SaberCats. Season tickets are available for purchase starting as low as $99 by calling 503-773-4AFL or by visiting www.portlandthunder.com.
