O'Brien Named To Team Of The Week

(Seattle, WA) – The United Soccer Leagues today announced that Sounder captain Leighton O'Brien was named to the Team of the Week for his two goal, one assist effort against Hampton Roads on Saturday night. The Sounders came away with a 5-1 victory.

O'Brien, 2001 Sounder MVP, has a league leading eight assists through 12 games. (He tallied seven assists all of last season.) This year he's added four goals to those eight assists for 16 total points.

O'Brien and his Sounder teammates traveled to Utah on Tuesday to face the Utah Blitzz in U.S. Open Cup action. Kick-off is set for 6:30 P.S.T.
