
Obi Named Defensive Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Arena Football League announced today that Washington Valor defensive back Fred Obi has been named Week 9's Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Philadelphia Soul. In his first game with the Valor, Obi recorded three solo tackles, one pass break-up and a pair of interceptions, the second of which occurred with just 18 seconds left in the game and sealed the Washington win.
The Valor return to action this Friday, June 15, taking on the league-leading Baltimore Brigade at 7 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. Washington's next home game is set for Friday, June 22 at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena against the Philadelphia Soul.
