ALBANY, N.Y, July 16, 2013 - The NY Sportimes won their second straight match to move over .500 for the first time with a dominating, 21-14 triumph over the Boston Lobsters in Mylan World TeamTennis action at SEFCU Arena at the University of Albany on Tuesday. Robert Kendrick, Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Kveta Peschke each won both of their matches to pace the Sportimes (4-3).

Kendrick and Jesse Witten got the hosts off to a strong start by edging the Lobsters' (3-6) men's doubles tandem of Eric Butorac and Amir Weintraub, 5-4.

Kendrick and Peschke then teamed for a 5-1 mixed doubles win over Butorac and Katalin Marosi for a 10-6 NY advantage before Weintraub's 5-1 singles event win over Witten even the match at 11-11 at the break.

The Sportimes' ladies then took control, with Groenefeld defeating Jill Craybas, 5-1, in singles and then pairing with Peschke to top Craybas and Marosi, 5-2, to extend to the final margin.

"I just told myself to enjoy it out there, make your shots," said Groenefeld, who is unbeaten in doubles play with Peschke this season. "I had confidence coming in today, and it felt good to get the singles win."

The win moved the Sportimes two full games ahead of the Lobsters for second place in the Mylan WTT Eastern Conference standings, a game behind Washington.

The Sportimes visit the Philadelphia Freedoms on Wednesday, then host their final SEFCU Arena home match on Thursday, when team captain John McEnroe leads the squad against the Orange County Breakers, beginning at 7:30.

Boston next hosts Sacramento on Friday.
