JOLIET - Blake Gill and Rob Stratton combined for five hits and five RBIs to lead the Joliet JackHammers to an 8-3 win over the Schaumburg Flyers at Alexian Field.
Stratton's RBI-double started the scoring in the JackHammers' five-run first. Later in the inning, Gill socked a three-run homer.
Stratton added a solo homer in the fourth.
Joliet remains one game ahead of second-place Gary in the East Division second-half standings with one game to play. Joliet can clinch the second-half division title with a win over Schaumburg in the series finale Sunday, or with a Gary loss Sunday in Gary's game with Kansas City.

GARY - Josh Habel and two relievers combined on a five-hitter as the Gary SouthShore RailCats shutout the Kansas City T-Bones 3-0 at U. S. Steel Yard.
Habel (8-9) struck out 12 batters over seven innings, one shy of the Gary club record. The right-hander yielded four hits and one walk.
Travis Kerber worked the eighth and Pete Sikaras pitched the ninth for his sixth save.
Jermaine Allensworth had two hits, including a first-innign RBI-single, to lead the Gary offense.
The result kept Gary alive in the East Division second-half playoff race, and eliminated Kansas City from playoff contention. Gary trails Joliet by one game with one game to play, while Kansas City trails Joliet by three games. Gary can force a one-game playoff Monday at Gary with a win Sunday over Kansas City and a Joliet loss versus Schaumburg.

CALGARY - Clint Hosford scattered 11 hits in pitching a complete game as the Calgary Vipers defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 4-1 at Foothills Stadium.
Hosford walked one and struck out six. Hosford's shutout bid ended on Will Smith's ninth inning homer.
Darryl Brinkley batted 3-for-4 to lead the Calgary offense.

EDMONTON - Todd George pitched seven scoreless innings and Joe Mathis and Brent Krause each homered as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks shutout the Edmonton Cracker-Cats 5-0 at TELUS Field.
George yielded three hits and one walk while striking out five. Brian Adams and Brandon Culp each pitched a scoreless inning to finish the combined shutout.
Mathis stroked the first pitch of the game for a home run. Krause capped a four-run seventh inning with a three-run homer. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
