Northern Ice to Hold Contest to Name Their Mascot

KENOSHA, WI (August 30, 2003) - The Northern Ice is enlisting the help of their fans ages 12 years old and under to help them name the lovable polar bear mascot that has been entertaining Ice fans since the season began on August 2, 2003. Young fans can cast their ballots by logging on to the Northern Ice website (www.wpflnorthernice.com ). To thank their young fans for participating, each child 12 and under that enters the contest will receive a ticket to the September 6th game when the Northern Ice plays the Minnesota Vixen. The first place winner will receive a ticket to the September 6th game, an autographed Northern Ice T-shirt, recognition at half-time of the September 6th game, recognition on the Northern Ice Website, an autographed football and a Northern Ice bear. All entries must be received by September 4,2003 and must include name, age, address, telephone and suggested name for the Northern Ice Mascot.

"People are really responding to the polar bear because she is real and fresh and enjoys mingling with the fans," said Patrice Cox Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Northern Ice. Fans of all ages can root for the Northern Ice Mascot as she competes with other local mascots in the battle of the mascots at half time of the September 6th game.
