The Spirit were able to hold off the Jackals and win game two of the Northeast League Championship taking a 2-0 lead home to Fraser Field for game three tomorrow night. North Shore starter Justin Gordon went six and a third innings, allowing four hits, one run, four walks and striking out four. Spirit reliever Edison Reynoso picked up his second save in as many games, going two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits, no runs and striking out three. North Shore started the scoring in the first, plating a run off of a Joe Hastings triple. New Jersey tied the game in the second off of a Darren Ciraco double. The last time either team would score was the top of the fourth, when Rob Fischer hit a solo homerun for the Spirit. Jackals' starter Joel Bennett got the loss, despite going the full nine innings, allowing five hits, two runs, one walk and striking out fifteen, four of which were to Spirit first baseman, Travis Oglesby.
