Postgame Quotes

North Texas SC head coach Eric Quill

General thoughts on the match...

"There was a lot of more action than what I thought in game one. I'm proud of our guys for coming back twice. We know what we need to work on, our one vs. one, low areas and our references in the 18 yard box when we decide to cross. Two crosses and they scored two goals, so it's something we can work on. Going forward, we dominated the ball throughout the night and the chances that were created and the goals we scored were high quality."

On Alex Bruce and Thibaut Jacquel up top...

"They're both goal scorers so we decided why not have two goal scorers on the field. It looked like we played a 4-2-4 when we would win the ball going forward. Basically a double nine but they would share the ability of a 10. Kind of wanted to create confusion with their center backs, and we found good areas. We tried to play centrally and both Alex and Thibaut have great feet. It's a work in progress and there are a lot of ways we can work with our firepower."

North Texas SC forward Thibaut Jacquel

On his two goals tonight...

"It feels great to score on my professional debut. I've been waiting for it for a long time. I get the chance to play with amazing people around me, in the staff and players. I just enjoy every part of it. "

On transitioning into the new team..

"It's been great, it's been very good. I got the chance to come into a very young team. It feels like a family, we all hang out with each other outside of the field and we all care for each other. My transition has been great, the style of football North Texas plays I like because we hold the ball and dominate the game. It's something I want to be a part of."
