North Texas SC Head Coach Eric Quill
General thoughts on the match...
"We were the better side, we created some really good stuff. Throughout the entire game it felt like it. We conceded a foul and that's how I felt like they were going to hurt us. We were intense with each other at half time and the guys responded with two goals off the bat. A brotherhood took place and the guys willed another last-minute goal. We've scored classy goals for the past few weeks. Eddie Munjoma and Nicky Hernandez were a part of two classy goals again."
On making changes throughout the second half...
"We couldn't find the second goal of the match, so we had to throw Nkosi [Burgess] at the nine position again to help us find a late goal. It worked again just like it did in the last game."
On the emotions after the final whistle...
"I'm just gutted that all that work and joyous celebration wasn't to be. Over the last 10 games, you can't argue that there's a better side in the league. So, it's just unfortunate that we didn't make it. It's very fortunate for Greenville and Omaha that we didn't make it. I love this group right now. We were hitting our stride big time; and I'm sad it's over."
North Texas SC and FC Dallas Midfielder Thomas Roberts
General thoughts on the match...
"In the first 20 minutes we came out a little slow and then we were picking it up and we were going at it. We picked up a silly foul and gave up a goal right before half time. There were a lot of emotions at half time. I knew from the back of my head that we would win tonight."
On the team's feeling from the last game...
"It was a complete mood swing, it was wishy washy. In the past five games in the locker room, I've realized that North Texas SC is a big family. I think we knew we were going to win tonight. It would have felt better if we didn't have to score in the last minutes."
On playing alongside with childhood friends...
"I grew up playing with most of the guys and it's cool. It's nice to see the younger guys coming up like [Justin] Che and Beni [Redzic]. I now feel like I try to take on the role of being a role model for them."
