Norfolk Tides News Release

NORFOLK, Va - The Norfolk Tides (17-31 | 45-78) were swept in a doubleheader by the Nashville Sounds (25-25 | 68-57) on Sunday at Harbor Park. The Tides were no-hit in seven innings in game one, losing 2-0. They were beat again in game two, 7-1.

The Tides played a suspended game from Saturday night for game one. The game was four pitches into game one of a scheduled doubleheader, when it started pouring. Game two on Saturday was canceled. Norfolk would not be able to record a hit in game one, the first time they were no-hit since 2005. The Sounds were one strike away from a perfect game, but walked the batter.

In game two, the offense continued to struggle for Norfolk. They managed just three hits, scoring one run on an RBI groundout in the sixth inning. Five runs by Nashville in the second gave the Sounds momentum the entire game, beating the Tides 7-1.
