Norfolk Outlasts Buffalo in Extra Innings

Buffalo, NY - The Norfolk Tides secured a hard-fought 6-3 victory over the Buffalo Bisons in ten innings at Sahlen Field.

The Tides broke open a tight defensive battle in the top of the 10th inning, plating three runs to seal the win. Ryan Noda sparked the extra-frame scoring with an RBI bunt single, followed by a two-run single from José Barrero off reliever Pat Gallagher. Norfolk pitcher Andrew Magno earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings of relief, while Jose Espada shut the door in the bottom of the 10th to pick up his fourth save of the season.

Norfolk's offense collected 11 hits on the night, highlighted by contributions from Heston Kjerstad, who doubled and drove in a run, and Sam Huff, who added an RBI single. Buffalo stayed competitive behind a game-tying, three-run home run by Charles McAdoo in the 8th inning off Juaron Watts-Brown, but the Bisons' offense stalled out in extras.
