I-Cubs Defeat Indianapolis

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Cubs (15-22, 45-64) defeated the Indianapolis Indians (23-14, 54-58) 9-3 on Friday night at Victory Field.

Iowa jumped in front in the second inning on a two-run single from Jordan Nwogu. Indianapolis scored three runs in the third to take the lead. The I-Cubs would go on to tie the game in the fourth inning on a solo home run from Chas McCormick.

The score would remain tied at 3-3 until the seventh inning when the I-Cubs would explode for five runs in the inning. B.J. Murray scored the go ahead run after taking a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded. A wild pitch by Indianapolis scored another run while Owen Ayers, Owen Miller, and Ben Cowles each drove in runs on RBI singles to give Iowa an 8-3 lead.

Iowa would add one more run in the ninth inning on a sacrifice fly from Cowles.
