November 14, 2022 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Maine Nordiques News Release

The Maine Nordiques were coming off a 2-1 loss on Friday night against the Hat Tricks and received the rebound in a big way.

Something the Nordiques needed to improve on was the penalty-kill; they got their chance to do that in the first period successfully killing off a four minute double minor. The Nords killed off another penalty before headed to the power play in the last minute of the frame. The Nordiques man advantage was able to convert as Henrik Hallberg sniped one off the far post after some great puck movement by Meiers and Kimball. 1-0 Nords after one period.

The second period started with a quick Nordiques goal, as Tony Achille found Schmiedlin in on a 2-on-1 with Genest. Schmiedlin got the puck to Genest putting it to the back of the net to make it 2-0. The Nords would swing to a great penalty kill once more, until the Hat Tricks dumped it in and converted on a chance. Toward the end of the period, Achille found Genest, who connected with Schmiedlin on a rush who sniped one to the far glove side to make it 3-1 after two periods.

The thirrd period started with another quick goal as Hallberg would tip to Evan Orloffs point shot to go up 4-1 just 1:21 into the period. The Hat Tricks would respond with a goal. The physicality ramped up, David Helledy and Danbury Logan Nickerson would get tangled up giving each assessed ten minute penalties. Brendan Kimball and the Hat Tricks, Miles Harrington, would get into it as well, while Henrik Hallberg would cap off his Hat Trick, and Achille added his second of the weekend on the power play to make it 6-2. The Nords would ride the lead for the last seven minutes to take a 6-3, final.

It's off to Attleboro to face the Northeast Generals on Tuesday and then a rematch in Danbury next weekend!
