Ottawa Renegades News Release

OTTAWA – With the arrival of the teams competing in the 92nd Grey Cup game, and thousands of fans to the nation's capital for the 2004 championship, a large list of the main Kickin' it in the Capital Grey Cup Festival events gets underway Thursday and Friday.

In addition to the Ottawa Citizen/Waste Management FanFest at the Lansdowne Park Coliseum building, a number of staple events surround Thursday and Friday festivities.

The flagship festival event on the Lansdowne property for Thursday night is the Rockin' In The Capital Party presented by the Ottawa Renegades. Sure to be one of the most enjoyable events of the entire festival, the party kicks off at the Aberdeen Pavillion at noon, and will be open until 3 a.m. Entry is free until 6 p.m. with an admission fee of $10 after 6 p.m.

"We are excited about the entire festival and about our Rockin' In The Capital Party. It is our flagship event for Thursday." said Brad Watters, president of Grey Cup 2004. "We urge our fans to get to the park early and really enjoy themselves."

Friday night features three big events, although the Great Big Canadian Evening is sold out. Fans can still take part in the Rockin' In The Capital – Proud to Be Canadian Party (sponsored by Urban Male Magazine) in Aberdeen Pavillion from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. The big concert on Friday is the Molson Canadian Rocks presents Great Big Sea at the Ottawa Civic Centre, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

More than 40 different events are on tap during the week-long Kickin' It in the Capital Grey Cup Festival. Among the major game day highlights are musical entertainment provided by The Tragically Hip (half-time), and Keshia Chanté (national anthem).

The Grey Cup game sells out year after year and the 2004 championship, like all others, is on track to be a sell out. A limited number of end zone seats are available through Ticketmaster at 613-755-1166.

The 92nd Grey Cup Game will be held on Sunday, November 21 at Frank Clair Stadium in Ottawa. The Renegades are honoured to host Canada's premiere sporting festival and event. For more information on the game, the festival and events, please log on to http://www.greycup2004.com.
