DURHAM, N.C. â Reigning June player of the month Ryan Sienko has begun July with more exceptional hitting, collecting his second straight Daktronics Northern League Central Player of the Week award for the period ending July 7.
Sienko hit .433 during the week (13-for-30) with three doubles, five homers and 11 RBIs. He slugged 1.033 and had a .485 on-base percentage. The week ending Sunday, June 30, Sienko hit .464 with the same extra base hits (three doubles and five homers).
Sienko, who lives in nearby Elgin, Ill., and played last year for Schaumburg.

Joliet swept both Central Division awards for the week. Rich Hyde was named the top pitcher after throwing a three-hit shutout versus St. Paul on July 3.

Adirondack outfielder Juan LeBron was named Daktronics Northern League East Player of the Week. He was 15-for-29 (.517) with three doubles, one homer and one stolen base.

Berkshire's Dallas Mahan was named East pitcher of the week. He posted a 2-0 record and 1.23 earned run average in 14 2-3 innings. He allowed six hits and three walks. On July 1 he limited Adirondack to two runs in 6 2-3 innings and came back six days later to allow only one unearned run versus New Jersey in eight innings.
