NISL releases 2008-09 schedule

Philadelphia, PA, October 1, 2008 - The National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) announced today the 2008-2009 regular-season schedule for the Philadelphia KiXX and the League's five-member clubs. The team kicks-off their 13th and final season of professional indoor soccer at the Wachovia Spectrum versus the Rockford Rampage on Saturday, November 15. Game-time at the historic venue is scheduled for 7:05pm ET. The team is in advanced discussions to continue play at the Liacouras Center in 2009 and beyond.
The NISL consists of five member clubs including the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Orlando Sharks, Philadelphia KiXX (all of the former MISL) and the Rockford (Illinois) Rampage (the 2007-08 American Indoor Soccer League champions).
The 18-game schedule consists of nine-home/nine-road dates, commencing on November 15 and concluding on Sunday, March 29 in Monterrey. The team will battle the Monterrey La RaZa, Orlando Sharks, and Rockford Rampage four times each, while facing Interstate-95 rival Baltimore Blast six times.
The entire season's home schedule features weekend dates, six of the nine outings taking place on Saturday evenings with a 7:05pm ET kick-off and the remaining three home games set for Sunday at 4:05pm ET. Looking at a month-by-month breakdown, the KiXX begin the season with one contest in November, five contests in December, four in January, three in February, and five in March before playoffs begin.
Don D'Ambra will return for his seventh season as a player/coach. "I think it's exciting to be one of the last professional teams to play at the Spectrum" said D'Ambra. "I've played here 13 years and won two championships, and I hope to raise a third banner in front of our great fans.
Keeping with the KiXX tradition of affordable family fun, fans will be treated to various promotional giveaways including magnetic schedules, 2008-09 Dance Team calendars, team photos, bobble heads, and t-shirts. The team will also host specialized theme nights including Dollar Dog Night, Girl and Boy Scout Nights, Mascot and Alumni Game, and a post-game jersey auction to benefit KiXX Charities.
KiXX Family PaXX, including four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas start at just $69. Youth tickets for children under age 14 are just $15. Soccer clubs can also purchase group tickets for the opportunity to play on the turf before KIXX games. KiXX season tickets and 6-PaXX mini-plans are on sale now by calling the club's ticket office at 1-888-888-KiXX (5499). Season ticket holders will receive invitations to KiXX events like the Meet the Team Party and the End of Year Party. Single-game tickets will be available through the KiXX and the Wachovia Center Box Office, as well as online at www.comcasttix.com, beginning October 6.
The NISL also announced the 2009 playoff format today, which will feature the three NISL clubs with the highest regular-season win-loss percentage at the end of the regular season qualifying for the postseason. The Semifinal Round, scheduled for the first week of April, is a two-match, home-and-home series between the second and third-place teams, with a "Golden Goal" mini-match series tiebreak, if necessary. The winner of the Semifinals will advance to square-off versus the regular season champion in a one-game Championship Final that will be played the second week of April. The Championship Game will be played at the home field of the regular season champion.
