Ninth Inning Heartbreak for Falcons

Bellingham, WA: The Bellingham Bells would score four times in the bottom of the ninth inning on Sunday to snatch a victory away from the Kelowna Falcons and win the series with a 5-4 win.

The Falcons would jump out in front in the first inning as Joe Robbins led off the game with his first homerun of the season.

In the top of the fourth the Falcons would score twice as Grayson Porter and Cody Andreychuk recorded RBI singles to put the visitors up 3-0.

Falcons' starter Preston Gray was on cruise control with the lead. He would last six innings allowing one run on eight hits while striking out one.

In the sixth the Falcons would add another run thanks to lead-off homerun from Stetson Olson, his second of the series.

The Bells would finally get on the board in the seventh, which was the lone run charged to Gray.

In the ninth Cody Lahman was called out of the pen to save the win for Gray, but the Bells had other ideas. After recording the first out of the inning on the first batter, the next seven hitters would reach base, aided by an error committed by Robbins. In the inning the Bells would score four times on three hits to hand the Falcons their 12th loss of the season.

The Falcons boarded the bus following the game to head back home as they open a series with the Walla Walla Sweets on Monday night at Elks Stadium. It's also autographed ball night, the first 150 fans receive a complimentary autographed team baseball. The gates open at 5:30pm, with the first pitch set for 6:35pm.
