Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Ghouls, goblins, ghosts and Fun-Go. The SwampDogs Trunk-or-Treat will have them all this Friday, October 30th at J.P. Riddle Stadium. The free event takes place from 5 pm to 7 pm followed by a costume contest on the field.
As always, this year the SwampDogs Trunk-or-Treat will be the place to be the Friday before Halloween for a family-friendly good time and safe trick-or-treating for the kids. Over 5,000 get in the holiday spirit and descend upon The Swamp to participate in the free event.
"We're so excited that it is this time of year again," said SwampDogs general manager Jeremy Aagard. "This is our biggest event of the offseason, and it's an honor to host such a tremendous community event."
When families are finished visiting all of the local reputable business owners passing out candy, a costume contest presented by the Trophy House will be held on the field with mystery celebrity guest judges. There will be activities on the field to ensure a fun time is had by all throughout the night.
After the conclusion of the contest, everyone is invited to stay on the field for a special screening of the Disney classic Halloweentown, presented by Disaster One. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided for donations to the Karen Chandler Trust; while Rolling Thunder, Chapter One will accept donations for hot dogs. Darden, Miranda & Associates Insurance will be sponsoring a dunk tank to raise funds for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
J.P. Riddle Stadium is located at 2823 Legion Road in Fayetteville. For more information on the Trunk-or-Treat, contact the SwampDogs at 910-246-5900.
