
Nighthawks Partner with KOZN 1620 AM the Zone ESPN Radio

OMAHA, NE - Tuesday, August 3, 2010 - The Omaha Nighthawks and 1620 The Zone ESPN Radio have reached an agreement to become broadcast partners for the upcoming UFL season.
1620 The Zone ESPN Radio will serve as the official broadcast home of the Nighthawks as the UFL's first expansion team begins its inaugural season in Omaha, Nebraska. All Nighthawks games, home and away, will be broadcast live on 1620 AM and 1620thezone.com.
"We are extremely excited to be a part of the launch of Omaha's new football franchise," said Neil Nelkin, 1620 The Zone's A.M. Operations Manager. "The Nighthawks will be a tremendous addition to the Omaha sports community and broadcasting on 1620 The Zone ESPN Radio will add to our outstanding schedule of local sports programs."
In addition to live game broadcasts, 1620 The Zone will feature a weekly Nighthawks Coaches show every Wednesday at 7pm beginning Wednesday, September 22. The hour-long show will air on 1620 AM as well as 1620thezone.com.
Don Igo, the Nighthawks Director of Business is thrilled to team up with ESPN's radio personalities Matt Schick and Kevin Kugler.
"It is very exciting to have award-winning ESPN radio broadcasting our games," said Igo. "Their commitment to the Nighthawks is going to be nothing short of outstanding."
The Nighthawks play an eight-game schedule, starting Friday, September 24 against the Hartford Colonials at home at Rosenblatt Stadium, kickoff 7pm.
