Nighthawks Name Robert Hunt Assistant Offensive Line / Offensive Quality Control Coach

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Wednesday, February 23 - Omaha Nighthawks head coach JOE MOGLIA continues to add to his coaching staff for the 2011 United Football League season, naming ROBERT HUNT as the team's assistant offensive line / offensive quality control coach.

Hunt comes to the Nighthawks after spending one season as the offensive line coach for Bridgewater College. In the spring of 2010, he was the offensive coordinator and interim head coach of Flash de La Courneuve in France after spending one season as the tight ends / offensive quality control coach for the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts.

"I am excited about the opportunity that Coach Moglia is giving me," said Hunt "I really look forward to working with the coaches on this staff. I hope that I can help provide guidance to the Nighthawks players."

For two seasons (2007-08), Hunt was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Howard University after spending three seasons with the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe as tight ends coach / special teams coordinator (2007), tight ends coach / special teams assistant (2006) and as a coaching intern (2005). The Admirals went to the World Bowl in both 2005 and 2006, winning the NFL Europe championship in 2005.

During his playing days, Hunt saw time with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFLE in 2000 and the San Francisco Demons and New York / New Jersey Hitmen of the XFL in 2001. Originally a seventh-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1999 National Football League draft, he also spent time with the New Orleans Saints (1999-2000), Kansas City Chiefs (2001) and Buffalo Bills (2002), and in the Arena Football League with the New York Dragons (2003).

Hunt graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology. He started the final 19 games of his collegiate career at right tackle. He has also worked as an assistant scout for NFL Japan and as the defensive line coach at Ferrum College.
