KNOXVILLE - The Knoxville Nighthawks and Alabama Hammers will give Professional Indoor Football League fans a preview of things to come Friday night when they meet at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the event is free for season ticket holders with a $10 charge for the general public.

Coach Chris MacKeown said the Nighthawks are eager to put on a solid show for their fans.

"We are excited about getting on the field against an experienced, talented and well-coached football team like the Alabama Hammers,'' MacKeown said.

"We want to win every time we step on the field, but we will be working on certain things and seeing what each of our players are all about when the lights come on."

Hammers coach Marty Hammond has been impressed with his squad since training camp started.

"There has been both good and bad out there, but overall we had some guys show up that aren't afraid to work hard,'' Hammond said. "It will be interesting to get out there and go at it."
